The
presentation took place in our usual class C001 on 2nd of June ,
2013 at 11 in the morning by Mohammed Ahmed H00229481 . Mohammed started the
presenting by introducing himself and gave a brief description about Healthy
food. The main topic of his presentation. Eye contact is an important aspect
while presenting because it creates a bond between the presenter and the people
that are listening or in another way as our parents say “look at me and tell me
what happened” and this is what was done by Mohammed. He stood at the side of
the screen which gave the audience a clear view of the presentation. Ahmed did
not use cards but, he had words written on his presentation which he used to
read them while presenting. Talking in a clear voice is very important in a
presentation because the purpose of the presentation is for the audience to
follow with him. Mohammed was speaking in a loud voice which didn’t make any
difficulties for the audience to follow with the presentation. Mohammed seemed
very organized since he knew what he is talking about and didn’t have any
difficulties while changing the slides. As I was told from one of my teachers
the more prepared I am the more confident I feel and this shows that Mohammed
was well prepared for the presentation since he was confident about himself.
The power point was mainly filled with beautiful pictures of the healthy food
that is important, with some texts on the left side of each slide, and there
were no transitions and animations included. Overall appraisal, it would have
been better if he was more creative by adding transitions and animations to
attract the audience, but for me as an audience I think he did a great job
because I received the message from him.

Reflection meeting
Reflection
We started the meeting by deciding which topic to talk
about and what are the roles of each person. After we sat and discussed we chose
our topic which was Emiratization. There was an argument about the issue where
everyone gave his opinion about Emiratization. The issue is based on young
adults prefer working in the government sector rather than the private sector.
We agreed on a time and place to briefly introduce the agenda and give
solutions how to encourage students to start applying for the private sector.
We started the meeting by the chairman welcoming us; after that we sat and
discussed some of the possible solutions to increase employment in the private
sector. We went through the agenda and covered all the possible solutions. In
addition, we gave examples of how it is going to be done. The chairman was
impressed by the group’s ideas and how creative we were to bring up the best
solution for our issue. Some of my ideas were disliked by the group because
they were unrealistic and not possible. We ended the meeting by bringing up the
best solution to encourage students about the private sector. If we had the
opportunity to work on the issue, we would have done a successful job because
of the brilliant ideas we figured out, for example changing the government
sector to the private sector. At last, the chairman again thanked us for
participating in the meeting and closed it in a good way.

agenda, minutes & recommendations
In-class meeting: agenda, minutes & recommendations
Problem:
Emiratization.
Date of meeting: 17th march
2013
Time of meeting: 11:35
VENUE: C001
Group members:
Chair: Mohammed
Awadh
Secretary: Khalfan
AlMuhairi
Participant: Saeed &
hamed
Agenda:
Emiratization.
Government sector/ Private sector.
Work experience.
Youth forum.
Internship in private sector.
Career fairs.
Reducing benefits in G.S.
Privatization .
The chairman Mohamed Awadh opened
the meeting at 11:35
1.
Emiratization:
Khalfan said that Emitatization is
a good Idea to help local people to work in the local sector and it’s an idea
invented by the government ten years ago to hire the possible number of citizens
people to work in the private sector.
2.Government sector / private
sector:
Khalfan explained the difference
between the private sector and the public sector; the government sector follows
the rules of the government, but the private sector has less commitment to
rules.
Khalfan kept saying the government
sector provides its workers with high salaries and security in work unlike the
private sector, which has low salaries and no stability.
3.Youth
forum:
Mohamed asked what are the
solutions to apply the theory of Emiratization?
Hamed said that the first step HCT
should take is graduate students with experience and that will happen by a lot
of experience courses and opening a youth forum like Mubadla, to motivate
students to get involved in the private sector.
4.Internship in the private
sector:
Hamed continued the second solution
that we will discuss which is the internship in the private sector and that
needs companies from the private sector to sign an agreement with HCT for
scholarships with the students to guide training and assign students to work in
the company concerned. Khalfan added that’s a way to get the right experience to
have the ability to work in the company concerned to achieve perfection in work.
Also Mohamed said that to start this idea HCT should include a course for
developing experience and qualities of teamwork and
individuality.
5.Career
fairs:
Saeed talked about a solution,
which is a career fair. HCT should organize career fairs including more from the
private sector than from the government sector; also to introduce the students
to the private sector is benefits and duties.
6.Reduce the benefits of the
government sector:
Saeed also added that government
should reduce the benefits of their newly signed up employees to equal them with
the private sector employees like the insurance and the retirement
salary.
Mohammed argued that we can’t equal
the two sectors together because there is a big difference between
them.
Saeed then said it’s only a fact to
change people’s idea of the private sector.
Mr. Hedley also said the new
contract needs to be more realistic.
7.
Privatization:
Khalfan mentioned a solution which
all the group considered the best solution that is privatization. Privatization
means to change a public sector to a private sector. For example, Abu Dhabi
police had privatized its accidents delineation section to a company called
SAAD.
Mr. Hedley confirmed that privatization would solve more
problems, as it had in the U.K.
In
conclusion:
1. Convincing people to be enroll in the private sector.
2. The government sector follows the rules of the government, the private sector has less commitment to rules.
3. HCT should provide youth forums to the students.
